An investigation is underway following two attempted robberies in the Oxgangs area, and officers have highlighted that ‘inaccurate information’ is being shared regarding these incidents.
The first happened around 9.30am this morning Monday 12 January 2026 at a premises on Colinton Mains Drive.
Twenty minutes later officers received a second report from a premises on Oxgangs Road North.
There were no reports of injuries.
Officers, including specialist resources, remain in the area and enquiries are ongoing.
Inspector Paul Begley said: “We’re aware of inaccurate information being shared regarding these incidents.
“I’d ask the public not to speculate on the circumstances but be reassured officers are in the area and there have been no reports of injuries. Anyone with information or concerns can approach these officers or call us on 101.”
