After the public voting day today Leith Chooses is open for online votes to be cast. After that the committee will count up the votes cast for each one of the 30 projects on the shortlist, and the results will be announced.
This year the theme is Wellbeing in Leith. £eith Chooses is a process of democratic deliberation and decision-making in which local people choose how to spend a public budget (participatory budgeting, or ‘PB’).
People who live, work, study or volunteer in Leith are asked to consider the projects, and vote.
Anyone eligible may cast their votes online by clicking on the link.
Grants of up to £5,000 will be awarded from a total of £44,707.16. These grants are for small, one-off projects that meet urgent needs and progress local priorities.
