The Aberdeen footballer at the centre of an alleged racial comment made to a Livingston player during Saturday’s match at Pittodrie has “vehemently” denied the allegation, according to a club statement.
The Dons said they are aware of an allegation that racist language was used during the match in the William Hill Premiership which the home side won 6-2.
A club statement said: “The player concerned has been informed of the allegation and vehemently denies it.
“Aberdeen FC condemns any and all forms of discrimination and we will co-operate fully with all relevant authorities during any investigation.
“While this process is on-going, it would be inappropriate to comment further.”
Livingston manager, David Martindale, revealed that 37-year-old, Congolese-born forward Jeremy Loteteka Bokila, who was a second-half substitute, was in tears in the dressing room after the alleged comment made to him during a melee around the 70th minute mark of the game.
Much travelled, Kinshasa-born Bokila, who has Belgian, Congolese and Dutch nationality, was only on the pitch for minutes before he and an Aberdeen player were shown the red card by match referee Ross Hardie.
