Glasgow have confirmed a partnership to help the development of young British speedway riders and Ashfield Stadium will be the host venue for all training schools.
Two rounds of the British Youth Championship will be held in Glasgow in 2026 and Ashfield will also play an extended role in the progress of young British riders into professional racing in the Cab Direct Championship.
Peter Facenna, a club director, said: “It is a natural progression to further extend our involvement into the grass roots of the British Youth system.”
He added: “We now have excellent facilities at the club, it’s available every day of the week and there’s also a training track for youngsters to start out from a very early age.
“We join Great Britain Youth boss Neil Vatcher with the same passion and determination to develop young riders into successful professional riders who can hopefully become World Champions of the future.”
Meanwhile, the 2026 British Youth Championship will visit eight tracks with an expanded nine-round series planned.
Glasgow will stage two rounds of the series which is split into separate 500cc, 250cc and 125cc categories to cater for the various age and experience ranges of the competitors.
Belle Vue, Buxton, Edinburgh, Leicester, Oxford, Redcar and Workington have also been announced as staging venues this year. Dates for the meetings are to be confirmed.
Meanwhile, an a total of 31 British Youth riders have been signed up for the pre-season training camp at Glasgow on February 16/17 where they will receive expert tuition from riders Tom Brennan and ex-Berwick racer Leon Flint.
