A multi-million pound investment is planned for the shopping centre in Livingston later this year, along with a new leisure hub.
Last year new brands arrived at The Centre such as Wingstop, Starbucks, Sostrene Grene. MINISO, and Flying Tiger. This year JD Sports will expand into a space three times as large as the existing shop.
The £5 million regeneration will include extending the sustainability programme by replacing a section of the roof using a 100% recyclable membrane, and improving recycling within the centre. In an innovative move The Centre will use pallets for planters and bug hotels. All of these moves are intended to reduce carbon emissions and lower energy consumption.
A system used to monitor and control lights and heating will also be replaced with a more effective set up.
The owners of the retail outlet, M Core, has been announced as the leading Investment Manager in the Going Shopping 2026 report produced by Trevor Wood Associates, and The Centre is named as the most attractive shopping destination in Scotland.
Simon Eatough, Director at LCP, part of M Core and Asset Manager to The Centre, Livingston said: “Our regeneration programme is well under way at The Centre, Livingston with even more exciting plans afoot.
“Being recognised for our efforts to revitalise the shopping centre is a great achievement for everyone who has been involved in the regeneration programme.
“Our work at The Centre, Livingston is grounded in long-term investment, active management and close collaboration with our partners and community.
“We’re very proud of the progress achieved so far and remain committed to ensuring The Centre, Livingston continues to thrive as a retail, dining and leisure destination for West Lothian and beyond.”
The Centre has been named as a finalist in the Scottish Property Awards in Glasgow next month in the Regeneration Project of the Year category.
