Hearts face Falkirk at Tynecastle on Saturday (kick-off 20.00) with four wins in the last five games in the William Hill Premiership and boosted by their 2-0 midweek success over St Mirren with only ten men.
Falkirk go into the Scottish Gas, Scottish Cup, fourth round, game having won three of their last five league games but The Bairns lost 1-0 at home to Celtic in midweek.
The head-to-head record in recent matches sees Hearts with two wins and Falkirk one with the Jambos edging the previous encounter at the Falkirk Stadium 2-0 with goals from Braga after two minutes and a Kingsley screamer after 77 minutes on a horrible, windy and rain-soaked night.
Combative midfielder, Cammy Devlin (pictured), is to have a scan on the injury picked up in the final minutes of Wednesday’s win, but the mood in the camp is high.
Derek McInnes, Hearts’ head coach, said that his men were “magnificent” against St Mirren and it was a brilliant win.
John McGlynn, Falkirk’s manager, said he squad put so much into the game against Celtic and had three good chances in the first half. Falkirk, he added, deserved to take something from the game.
Other news from Tynecastle is that 24-year-old winger, Josh McPake, will join the club on a three-year deal in the summer from St Johnstone. He is the top scorer in the Championship having scored 14 goals in 26 games for the Perth club this term.
And the Men in Maroon hope to secure the services of 22-year-old Ugandan forward Mato who has scored 15 goals for Macedonian club Vardar so far this season.
However, sources say there is confusion over the transfer.
