On New Year’s Day children and families can party on down at The National Museum of Scotland on Chambers Street.
Sprogmanay is an afternoon of entertainment with ceilidh bands and children’s entertainers in the Grand Gallery of the museum. The event is on from 2pm until 5pm, on 1 January and is free and unticketed,
A spokesperson for Edinburgh’s Hogmanay said: “Sprogmanay is back for another packed day of family fun on New Year’s Day. Presented in partnership with our friends at National Museum of Scotland, kids can kick-start 2026 with a bumper afternoon of music, arts, and crafts for all ages, plus the traditional Family Ceilidh event is only a short walk at Assembly Roxy. Featuring the return of the incredible Unicorn Dance Party, little-ones can start 2026 with a touch of sparkle and fun.”
