It’s called gathering sticks, stories and old glory and it will honour the past, one shift at a time.
Confused? Well, Denis Clair, once of Murrayfield Racers, Britain’s best team at one time, is organising a reunion in the Capital next year.
Former teammates, coaches and fans are invited to celebrate the bonds, memories and moments that defined local ice hockey at its peak.
The date is Saturday, May 9 at the venue Murrayfield Ice Arena (2pm start) and Fife-based Clair said: “We plan to bring together players from across the eras to share stories, relive rivalries and reconnect with the spirit of the game.
“The event isn’t about wins and losses, it’s about friendship, tradition and the shared love of the sport.”
He added: “We’ve all spent countless hours on the ice together, and this is our chance to honour that time, one shift at a time.”
Clair plans a social hour with photos from the past along with memorabilia and he said: “Fans, families and the local community are invited to attend and celebrate the lasting legacy of the sport that brought everyone together.”
