One of several pro-academy players selected in this week’s team, Ollie Blyth-Lafferty, is set to make his debut on Saturday.
Sean Everitt has selected five pro-academy players to play 14th placed Ospreys who are two points behind Edinburgh. Lewis Wells, Tom Currie, and Findlay Thomson are in the starting lineup whilst Conor McAlpine and Ollie Blyth-Lafferty will look to make an impact off the bench.
Alongside the occasion of debutant Ollie Blyth-Lafferty Ben Muncaster will be running out for the 50th time with Edinburgh on Saturday night after returning from a torn ligament in his ankle. The physical back rower will no doubt be looking to make a big statement.
There is still a sturdiness to the squad however, with the likes of Van Der Merwe, Schoemann, Goosen, and Gilchrist all in the starting lineup. These international stars will provide great support and balance to create a symbiotic performance with the younger players.
