Police officers from the National Motorcycle Unit have seized an e-scooter and reported a 20-year-old man to the Procurator Fiscal for road traffic offences.

The man was stopped on Easter Road earlier today.

Officers have also reminded the public about the law concerning the use of e-scooters.

A police spokesperson said: Officers from the #NationalMotorcycleUnit stopped the rider of this E-Scooter on Easter Road in Edinburgh earlier today.

“E-scooters are not permitted on public roads, pavements or other public spaces, as they do not meet the necessary legal standards.

“Their use is only legal on private land with the landowner’s consent.

“A 20 year old male is now the subject of a report to the Procurator Fiscal for alleged road traffic offences.

“The e-scooter was seized by police at the roadside.
