Nicky Cadden was left with mixed emotions after yesterday’s 1-1 draw with St Mirren at Easter Road.
Hibs had to come from behind after Miguel Freckleton put the visitors ahead midway through the second half, before Rocky Bushiri equaliser moments later.
Hibs went in search for a winner in the closing stages, and had a late penalty shout that was waved away.
Speaking to Hibs TV after the match, Cadden shared his thoughts on both the result and the performance.
“The boys dug in well today – considering we went a goal down, we did well to get back into the game and showed good character. We need to be more ruthless in their box and put away those chances, particularly in the first half.
“Considering the trip we had in midweek and the highs and lows of Thursday night – with all the disappointment and everything that comes with it, we did well to get a result today – even though we wanted to win the game.”
After playing the last six Thursdays in a row – with domestic football scheduled in between – the players will now get a well-deserved break over the international break.
“We had to pick ourselves up from midweek and the lows of going out of Europe. We showed good character to come back from a goal down and not let our heads drop. We got ourselves a draw in the end, so we can take the positives from that.
“We’ve got a few days off due to the busy schedule, so it’ll be nice to spend a bit of time with the family, rest, recover and get ready to go again.”
