Fife Flyers bosses have confirmed that the club’s pre-season games will now be against arch rivals, Dundee Stars.
This follows the cancellation of their scheduled challenge double-header against CSM Corona Brasov who had travel problems.
The clashes will be at Dundee on Saturday and at Kirkcaldy on Sunday, originally scheduled as Challenge Cup fixtures.
Flyers’ bosses said: “Following discussions with Dundee and the Elite League, it has been agreed to change these dates to pre-season.
“The scheduled Challenge Cup games will now take place in Dundee on Tuesday, September 16 (7.30pm) and Kirkcaldy on Wednesday, October 22 (7.30pm).”
Fans should contact Fife for details if they have bought tickets for the challenge games against the Romanian club.
Meanwhile, new head coach, Jamie Russell (pictured), felt Saturday’s fan night at The Fife Ice Arena, when his new-look squad and Kirkcaldy Kestrels met local fans, was a “fantastic event”.
He now has a full week to prepare for the pre-season games and described his first week in Scotland as “awesome”.
