More than 100 new police recruits will deploy to serve communities across Scotland following a ceremony last week to mark the end of their initial training.

Family and friends joined 118 probationary constables for the passing out parade at Police Scotland Headquarters, Tulliallan.

Chief Constable Jo Farrell thanked the officers and congratulated them on completing this important phase of their policing career.

Chief Constable Farrell said: “These officers have joined a job like no other. Each new officer has a role to play in delivering on our vision of safer communities, less crime and supported victims.

“Completing their initial training is an important milestone in the careers of these officers and a moment to reflect with loved ones.

“Today is an opportunity for me to thank them for their service and underline my expectations as they begin serving communities and continue their development.”
