Edinburgh Road Cycling Club’s have launched their youth team for 2024 comprising nine young riders aged 13-16 who will compete on track, road, time trial and cyclocross.

The team are delighted to have support from civil and structural engineering consulting firm Goodson Associates.

It is the sixth year of the firm’s support and and during that time the cycling teams have produced numerous Scottish and  British champions to ensure they remain Scotland’s most successful youth race team.

Additionally the team have new sponsorship from SCI print contributing to new revamped 2024 race kit design.

This season the team will be spearheaded by second year under-16 Elliot Speedie who recently became the Scottish individual pursuit champion and is also on the National School of Racing.

Hamish Mayes is back after he rode to victory in Glasgow at Race the Worlds; also joining them are new riders Rhys Littlejohn and Seth Overton.

All riders are planning a full campaign on the Scottish and British series races next season on road and track.

Very Promising second year under-14 boys Andrew Levinson, Micah Myles and Tymek Chmielowski dominated the youth B category last year in Scotland, picking up all the wins in the series with the Scottish Crit championship Jersey going to Andrew Levinson.

The girls are led by first year under-16 Kasey Park who is back for her third year with the team. Kasey recently gained a silver medal at the Scottish Track Championships for the 500m time trial and youth sprint ably backed up by experienced under-14 rider Lucy Sweeny who is back for her second year with the team.

Both girls raced strongly at the Youth Tour of Ireland where they won the female team prize.
