Scottish company was the first automotive business to achieve esteemed accreditation.
A Campervans conversion specialist has received an esteemed certification recognising its responsible tax performance for the fourth year in a row.
Jerba Campervans was the first automotive business to have been awarded the renowned Fair Tax Mark accreditation in 2020, and continues to showcase its ethical tax behaviour.
The North-Berwick based company is continuing to lead the way as part of the growing movement of honest tax practitioners, cementing the employee-owned firm’s place as one of the UK’s most ethically-minded businesses.
Simon Poole, Co-Founder of Jerba Campervans, said: “We are extremely proud to have retained our Fair Tax Mark accreditation for the fourth year running. Since first achieving the certification in 2020, financial transparency and responsible tax conduct have been central pillars of Jerba Campervans’ ethos.
“We remain wholeheartedly committed to operating openly and ethically in accordance with both the spirit and letter of tax laws and regulations. Achieving the Fair Tax Mark requires dedication to good tax governance and transparent reporting – all things we take very seriously as a business seeking to make a positive impact.
“As we look to the future, Jerba Campervans will continue its pioneering fair tax work; upholding the highest standards of responsible business practice when it comes to tax and beyond.”
It is estimated the UK loses an estimated £12.5 billion in corporate tax revenue annually due to corporate profits being shifted to tax havens.
Launched in 2014, the Fair Tax Mark was set up to encourage tax transparency, and is regarded as the gold standard scheme in responsible tax conduct.
Graham Drummond, Head of Communications at the Fair Tax Foundation, said: “Gaining the Fair Tax Mark for a fourth consecutive year, it’s great to see Jerba renew their commitment to responsible tax conduct.
“They stand alongside other Fair Tax Mark business in Scotland, and across Europe, in recognising the importance of a third party, independent tax certification that shows they’re following both the letter and the spirit of the law.”
Businesses with Fair Tax Mark accreditation include a mixture of family-owned or national brands or social enterprises and co-operatives. Some of the accredited companies are: Scotmid Co-operative, Unity Trust Bank, SSE, Lush, MJ Gleeson or Clean for Good.
The international accreditation scheme spans six countries, including Sweden, Germany, Italy, Denmark and the Netherlands
