Hibs’ youngster Jamie Gullan says he is ‘buzzing’ after scoring the equaliser against Cove Rangers in Aberdeen this afternoon.

Paul Hatley’s team had the better of the first half at a windswept Balmoral Stadium and the Hibs’ players had difficulty adapting to the conditions and the artificial surface.

Gullan replaced Drey Wright at half-time with Hibs a goal down thanks to a superb free-kick from Danny Higgins and Ross’s substitution paid dividends within three minutes when he converted Martin Boyle’s low cross from close range.

Kevin Nisbet added another with a fantastic volley moments later and Hibs comfortably held on to secure the victory.

Speaking to Premier Sports after the game Gullan said: “The gaffer told me to try and impact the game in a positive way, get us back playing on the front foot, get us up the pitch and try to create stuff.

“Luckily we got the goal early in the second half and that stood us in good stead to go on and win the game.

“Scoring just after coming on is what you want to do, and it’s what the gaffer told me to do. I’m happy I got a goal. It’s been a long time and I’m just buzzing we got the win.

“I had a few chances against Brora Rangers that didn’t come but I’m delighted I took the chance today. I want to be back playing in this team and showing what I can do.

“With any minutes on the pitch I’m just looking to impress and hopefully keep getting some starts and keep going from here.”
