An unnamed Hamilton Academical first team player is self-isolating after testing positive for coronavirus during Monday’s round of testing and will miss the game against Hibs at Easter Road on Friday.

Training was cancelled on Tuesday but the rest of the squad managed to train yesterday.

The news comes as  a blow for Brian Rice’s side who looking to build on Saturday’s draw with Dundee United.

Previously four Hamilton players missed the 2-1 defeat at Kilmarnock although three of those players later returned negative tests.

A Hamilton Academical statement read: “The club can confirm one individual has produced a positive result from Monday’s COVID-19 testing.

“This individual is now isolating as per Scottish Government and JRG guidelines.”
