Hibs’ highly-rated teenage full-back Josh Doig has been rewarded for his superb start to the season with an international call-up for the Scotland Under-19 squad.

Under-19s manager Billy Stark yesterday named his 20-man squad for two upcoming international friendlies against England.

The Scots  take on England on Thursday, 8 and Sunday, 11 October at St George’s Park.

Doig has been a revelation at left-back, taking over from long-serving club legend Lewis Stevenson and the youngster has won many plaudits from within the game.

Last season he enjoyed a successful spell with Queen’s Park where he was favourably compared to Scotland captain Andrew Robertson who had also played for the club.

He has previously played for the Under-18 team in a 2-1 victory over Paraguay last September.
