The hog roast roll specialists, Oink, will support the Virtual Kilt Walk in Edinburgh this weekend 11-13 September from their stores in Canongate (Royal Mile), Victoria Street and Hanover Street.

They will be raising money by making a £1 donation for every Oink roll ordered with haggis stuffing on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. In addition, they will offer 50% off their pulled pork sandwiches to any Kiltwalker who puts the Oink stores on their walk or cycle route. The Kiltwalker just has to show their fundraising page to claim the discount.

All staff will be wearing a touch of tartan to show their support.

Sandy Pate and Adam Marshall, the two Berwickshire farmers who set up Oink said: “We’re inspired by the work of The Kiltwalk and we wanted to support this amazing charity and all the intrepid virtual Kiltwalkers at the weekend. We certainly hope we can raise a lot of money in the stores but have kicked things off with a donation dedicated to all those taking part.

“For those taking part we can provide a crackling good snack or lunch to keep you going!”

Oink’s freshly pulled pork rolls add a Scottish twist to the traditional Southern US dish, with a serving of haggis, but the succulent, tender hog roast can also be combined with a sage stuffing, apple and chilli jam sauces.

The Virtual KiltWalk takes place this weekend 11-13 September 2020, and in place of the traditional event, those wanting to help their favourite charities are encouraged to organise their own walk or cycle.

All funds raised will receive a 50% top up from The Hunter Foundation.
