Martin Boyle has put talk of a potential move to the back of his mind as he concentrates on giving his all for Hibs for as long as he is at the club.

Boyle enters the last year of his contract and has been linked to Michael O’Neil’s Stoke City whilst Neil Lennon is also an admirer of the Australian international who played for him during his Hibs’ tenure.

He missed a large part of last season due to injury but he is back and raring to go and is hoping to feature in the forthcoming bounce games against Aberdeen at Pittodrie tomorrow and Celtic at Parkhead on Monday.

He told Sky Sports: “I just want to give everything for the club at the moment. I’m in the last year of my contract and I’ve loved every minute here.

“Nothing will change and I’ll go out there and give everything for the club.

“It’s on going at the moment and I’m not completely sure. I’m just trying to put that at the back of my mind, let everyone else sort that and just get on with my football.

“I’ve been doing that every season and hopefully I can just keep putting performances in.”

There was a pleasant surprise for the midfielder during Tuesday’s 2-1 friendly win over Hamilton Accies as the Australian Branch of the Hibs’ Supporters Association  bought 33 cardboard cut-out kangaroos, costing £825 which were included in the crowd.

The four times capped Socceroo was delighted at the gesture and said: “It’s unbelievable the lengths these guys go to watch us every weekend and it’s appreciated.

“I get some great messages from supporters based in Australia and hopefully they’re looking forward to the start of the season as much as we are.

“I have seen some strange things in my time at Easter Road but those kangaroos are right up there.

“They’re doing their bit for the club and it’s helping. It’s brilliant, it’s a good thing that they’ve done at the moment.

“A few of the players are going to put their families on cut-outs too. I’m going to get my daughter one as well.”

Boyle is looking forward to the season and is aiming to finish high enough to qualify for Europe. He added: “We want to be challenging for the top four, a Europa League slot would be brilliant.

“But as we’ve been doing every year since we’ve been back in the top flight, we’re just taking it game by game and trying to do the best we can.”
