The first post lock down match for Edinburgh and Lothians Coarse Angling club in their summer season takes place at popular Orchill near Dunblane on Saturday.

You could be part of it providing you book a place by Friday and pay your £10 annual subscription ahead of the event.

Geoffrey Lowe, club chairman, said they welcome newcomers to the long-established club which has another match on Saturday, July 25 followed by a third on August 8.

Four more are planned until the end of the series and they are on August 22, September 5 and 19 and October 3.

Maggot, worm, corn and pellet bait are allowed as is a method feeder and full details are on the club’s Facebook page at Edinburgh and Lothians Coarse Angling Club.

Geoffrey said: “The water we’re on at Orchill has 30 pegs and I must know before Friday how many are coming so I can book. Of course, we are always happy to see newcomers and it is good to be back.”
