Maxie Baigrie (pictured) came from 13 shots down to win the Water of Leith seniors bowling title for the first time.

The Balerno-based bowler beat Brian Dingle 21-16 who was playing on his home rink at Gorgie Mills.

And the former painter and decorator, who has been a senior bowler for two years, was 15-2 behind early on.

The 68-year-old Balerno Bowling Club member said: “I was getting frustrated as I was playing well, but Brian had the weight and was getting results at each end.

“However, I kept on playing the way I had been and he seemed to lose his weight and I capitalised.”

The club’s triples and the rink who were beaten at an extra end at the same venue.
