The price for unlimited, year-round access to Edinburgh’s new cycle hire scheme has been cut in half for one week only.

Normally costing £90, an annual pass gives users unlimited access to the scheme for 365 days. They can be purchased via the free Just Eat Cycles app for £45 between Saturday 1 June and Sunday 9 June.

The scheme’s operator has launched the new offer to encourage more people to use the bikes as part of their daily routines.

Last month Just Eat Cycles made the scheme completely free to use for seven days, resulting in record levels of use since the scheme launched in September 2018, and attracting over 3,000 new users.

Charles Graham, Serco’s General Manager for Just Eat Cycles, said: “As the weather starts to improve and the nights get longer, there’s never been a better time to grab an annual pass. This offer gives people year-round access to our growing scheme and a fleet of over 500 bikes all for the price of an average monthly gym membership.”

500 bikes are strategically positioned around the city’s network which is made up of 80 hire points, with yet more set to come over the summer.
