A 32-year-old man has been arrested after a man died falling from a fourth-floor window at a block of flats in Wester Hailes.

Emergency services were called to Cobbinshaw House South shortly after 2pm on Thursday.

A 35-year-old man was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary before he was pronounced dead.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Police in Edinburgh investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a 35-year-old man in the west of the city have arrested a 32-year-old man in connection with the incident.

“Officers and emergency services were called to Cobbinshaw House South at around 2.05pm on Thursday April 18 following a report of a man having fallen from a fourth-floor window.

“He was taken to hospital where he died a short time later.

“The death is currently being treated as unexplained and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal. “Inquiries remain ongoing.”
