A luxury city hotel has scooped a hat trick of awards at the regional finals of the prestigious Scottish Hotel Awards.

Nira Caledonia took home the accolades for Boutique Hotel and Whisky Hotel Bar, with Revenue and Reservations Manager Matt Goldyn coming out on top in the Revenue Manager category.

The regional finals of the Scottish Hotel Awards took place on Friday 18th January at the Principal Edinburgh Charlotte Square, with more than 70 members of the Scottish hospitality industry in attendance.

Chris Lynch, General Manager at Nira Caledonia, said: “To be recognised with not one, but three awards, is a significant achievement for our team.

“The City of Edinburgh category is very competitive, so naturally we’re thrilled to have performed so well at the regional level.”

The finals of the Scottish Hotel Awards will take place on Sunday 28th April at the Crowne Plaza in Glasgow.

Nira Caledonia was also recently recognised with a ‘Gold Seal’ by the Good Hotel Awards – the highest accolade given and reserved to those who achieve the award for three consecutive years or more.

To qualify, hotels must demonstrate exceptional ongoing standards in room quality, value and service over this time period.

Chris added: “To think that this time last year we were still in the process of a huge refurbishment is quite astonishing – we’ve come very far in that time and it is testament to the hard work of the whole team at Nira Caledonia.”

Nira Caledonia reopened its doors to the public just in time for summer 2018 following a £1.4 million intensive project to restore half of the hotel devastated by a fire in 2017.

It is part of Shanti Hospitality, a hotel and leisure company with a focus on building and developing exceptional assets and brands. There are two other properties in the Nira portfolio; Nira Alpina in St Moritz and Shanti Maurice in Mauritius.

Rooms at Nira Caledonia start at £159.
