JLL has two new Scottish graduate surveyors, one in the Edinburgh office and one in Glasgow

Ewan Scott also joins JLL as a graduate surveyor within the residential team in Edinburgh after completing his masters in real estate at Aberdeen University. A keen golfer and St Andrews native, he played at high level around the world from a young age – being part of the Gold medal winning GB&I team at the 2013 Youth Olympics in Australia and the Walker Cup Squad in 2014, representing GB&I in the USA.

Thomas Morton joins JLL’s Glasgow office agency team as a graduate surveyor following a degree in accountancy and a masters in real estate at Glasgow University. He joins the consultancy’s corporate solutions team, working with corporate clients under the guidance of director Angela White.

Both of the new recruits were taken on as part of its annual graduate recruitment programme, which underlines the company’s commitment to developing the next generation of property professionals.  Both of JLL’s new graduates will immediately begin studying towards their APC to become chartered surveyors.

Alasdair Humphery, Lead Director at JLL in Scotland, said: “This latest intake of graduates are some of the highest quality additions we’ve made to our business in recent years. Both Thomas and Ewan, bring with them a range of skills and will be able to define and develop their own career paths here at JLL. As a business it’s vitally important that we take a broad view to recruitment in order to welcome new staff from a range of backgrounds and specialisms which can add real value for our clients.”

The total number of staff based in Scotland is now over 120. JLL has recruited 48 graduates across the UK this year.

JLL has worked hard in recent years to raise the profile of the property sector to those who would not necessarily have had the industry on their career radar and recruits a number of graduates without a property background each year across the UK.

JLL’s popular graduate scheme offers a number of different opportunities for graduates and undergraduates, including sandwich placements for students undertaking a RICS accredited degree and JLL First, a two-day workshop for first year students interested in a career in real estate and building surveying.
