Hibernian Ladies defender Clare Williamson was delighted to get back on the pitch during the club’s superb 7-1 Edinburgh Derby victory over Spartans on Sunday.

The 22-year-old missed all of last season with injury and returned to first team action featuring for the last ten minutes at Ainslie Park in the SBS SWPL fixture.

Talking about her return to @HibsLadies on Twitter, Clare said: “First of all, it was really good for the girls to score a lot of goals and to win, but personally it was amazing to get back on.

“It’s been a really long time that I have been out injured for and it has always been something that I’ve wanted to get back into.

“Right now, I am just so happy to get back onto the pitch. My main aim is to improve and then hopefully get more game time and get back into it one step at a time.

“I’m just looking forward to enjoying it. I’ve not been able to for so long, so to me ten minutes at the end of the game is amazing to me.

“It’s been amazing watching the team because they have been doing so well and have been so successful.

“Now, it’s exciting for me to be coming back into the squad because they have achieved so much and to be part of the end of the season will be exciting.”
