Dylan McGeouch has been voted the Player of the Season by the Hibernian Supporters’ Association.

The midfielder has been in top form throughout the season, helping Hibs to fourth place n the table  and the club are desperate to persuade him to sign a new contract as his runs out in the summer.

Aberdeen are known to be interested as are a number of teams from England.

Whatever happens, McGeouch will always have legendry status amongst the fans for his part in the 2016 Scottish Cup win.

Speaking to Hibs TV he said: “It’s great to pick up the award – to be voted as the Player of the Season by the supporters is great.

“It’s been a great season for the team. We’re up there and fighting for second and third place, and it is something that we are hoping to continue after the split.

“I don’t know why I was voted specifically, but I hope the fans have enjoyed my performances this season.

“The team are doing well so it is an award to be shared as a collective. I’m glad they have enjoyed my performances and the performances of the team this season; hopefully we can continue that.

“It was great to receive the award personally, but there is still a lot to do this season.

“The team are all looking forward to the final five matches of the season. Everyone is optimistic.

“It has been a good season so far and we want to finish it strongly and as high up the table as possible.

“A lot of teams were fighting for the positions of second, third and fourth at the start of the season and maybe tipped to finish there, but we’ve been doing well as a squad. Hopefully we can do the business and get a few points.”
