A 13-year-old boy was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary after being struck by a Citroen car on Colinton Road near Craiglockhart Avenue at about 8.10am this morning.

His injuries are not thought to be serious.

The road was closed in both directions for over 30 minutes.

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: “The male driver of the Citroen and the male driver an articulated lorry, which was parked on the eastbound carriageway, have been charged in connection with this and issued with a fixed penalty ticket.”
