Hibs’ Head Coach Neil Lennon says that his job this week is to temper the hype ahead of tomorrow’s game against Partick Thistle.

After an impressive transfer window which culminated with the signing of fans’ favourite Anthony Stokes the supporters are optimistic for the campaign ahead with season ticket saes at an all time high.

Lennon however is well aware of the threat from Partick Thistle who were a top six side last year.

Lennon told Sky Sports News earlier today: “The anticipation has been really building this week. Season ticket sales are at an all time high.

“The club has been in purgatory for the last three seasons. Hibs are a huge club and we have a great support and it’s great that we are back.

“The signing of Anthony (Stokes) as well who knows the club and the fans adore him has also hyped up the anticipation.

“My job is to temper that. We have a difficult game tomorrow. Our pre-season has gone well, we are injury free and the players look in good condition.

“We are very much looking forward to it but we know the dangers that Partick Thistle will bring.

“We needed someone who could bring goals and create goals. The loss of Jason Cummings was a huge loss for the club but we didn’t want to stand in his way and he wanted to go.

“He did a great job for us and we respected that but we needed someone to replace that. Simon Murray has had a fantastic start to his Hibs career and Stokes will come in and add to that because of the calibre of player that he is.

“Ambrose, Marciano, the two Lituanian guys, and Steven Whittaker are top players so I am delighted at the business we have done.

“We’ve been working on set plays for tomorrow, offensively and defensively but training today will be pretty light, just keep them ticking over till tomorrow.
