Edinburgh Capitals have re-signed home-bred netminder Kevin Forshall for his 17th campaign at the Murrayfield side.

The 33-year-old will be third pick and he’s happy to be on the fringes, concentrating more on helping teenage prospect Jordan McLaughlin develop his game.

He said: “I’ve been given a chance to sign this season but whilst it’s tough, I know it’s time to step to the side and let the younger generation through.

“My family commitments mean I have other things to focus on, but I’ll still be part of the team and be pushing myself hard as well as use my experience to help Jordan.”

Braehead Clan have announced the capture of 25-year-old Landon Oslanski, who joins from North American ECHL outfit Toledo Walleye.

Oslanski is making his first move to Europe and Clan head coach John Tripp said: “He’s the kind of player I want at this team who can deliver night-in and night-out and someone I think the fans will really take to next season.”

Fife Flyers bolstered their ranks with the addition of 25-year-old Danick Gauthier and can thank former coach Mark Morrison for his recommendation.

Gauthier played under Morrison at Manitoba Moose and Flyers’ head coach Todd Dutiaume revealed: “I had a number of talks with Mark and told him the type of player we were looking for. Danick topped that list for him.

“I had the opportunity to meet Danick and I was not only impressed by his character, but commitment to contributing in any way to help the Flyers towards a successful season.

“He’ll bring size and grit into our forward line up and he also has the capability of increasing our offensive production.”
