Salamander Street in Leith Edinburgh has been closed in both directions since 6.50pm between Baltic Street and Bath Road “due to an ongoing police incident”.
Deadline News understands from an eye witness at the scene that the incident is a crash involving a motorbike.
The road remains closed an hour later and motorists are asked to avoid the area.
Lothian Buses have details of a diversion on their website: “Due to a road closure buses are unable to serve Bernard Street, Baltic Street, Salamander Street, Salamander Place and Links Gardens and are instead diverted via The Shore, Henderson Street, Great Junction Street, Duke Street and Hermitage Place in both directions until further notice.”
Deadline News has asked Police Scotland for comment.
