Woodland Trust Scotland is holding a free event for volunteers at the Water of Leith Visitor Centre on Lanark Road on Saturday 20 May 2017.

The gathering is for both existing volunteers and anyone interested in getting involved in the charity’s work helping woods and trees.

Woodland Trust volunteers are involved in a wide range of activities including recording ancient trees, identifying tree diseases, looking after Woodland Trust woodlands and supporting campaigns.

There will be an informal talk and networking in the morning at the visitor followed by lunch and an afternoon guided nature walk at Craiglockart Dell.

The event is free with lunch and refreshments provided. Booking is essential.
