The Women’s March on Edinburgh which is planned for 21 January 2017 will be convened at the US Consulate 3 Regent Terrace, EH7 5BW at 11am, but it is expected to simply be a gathering and not actually a march.
There will be speeches by some notable activists, but while the council and Police Scotland are said to be in agreement with a demonstration the organiser told us that they would not permit a march in the city.
Undaunted, the teenage organiser of the sister march to the main protest taking place in Washington DC on Saturday is keen to ensure that as many people as possible attend.
Already on Facebook almost 800 people have assured her of their presence on Saturday morning.
