A man has been arrested and charged following a number of assaults and robberies in the city centre last weekend.

The incidents all took place between 3 a.m. and 4 a.m. on Saturday 16th July

A 38-year-old man was on Lothian Road when two men pushed him to the ground, resulting in a minor head injury.

Officers also received a report of a 21-year-old man having been attacked and robbed on Princes Street during this time.

A 24-year-old was detained yesterday Wednesday 20 July and subsequently charged.

Police are currently pursuing various lines of inquiry to identify another man believed to have been involved and are looking to trace other victims or witnesses.
