You can catch a bus to the Royal Highland Show from outside The Dome on George Street this year. And some of these buses are a little different!

Three Lothian Buses hybrid vehicles have been fitted with novelty mooing horn sounds to help transport Royal Highland Show visitors in style.

This year, for the first time, three of the fleet will have cow inspired horns installed to add some authentic bovine atmosphere to the journey.

The Royal Highland Show is a special event in the Scottish calendar and Lothian Buses is delighted to be supporting it once again.

The company are making the experience of getting there by bus even better this year by using 25 of its environmentally-friendly hybrids to operate this service. This change will save around 6 tonnes of CO2, 99% of nitrous oxides and 80% of particulates compared to using more conventional buses helping to reduce the environmental impact of show travel.

Bill Devlin, Engineering Director at Lothian Buses, said: “The Royal Highland Show is a fantastic event in the Scottish calendar and we’re delighted to be supporting it once again. Our Special Service 98, which stops right outside the showground, is definitely the best option for travelling to the event, especially as we’ve introduced environmentally-friendly hybrids to the service and can offer the unique experience of moo-ing transport!”

Lothian Buses will run its special Service 98 to and from the Highland Show every 10-15 minutes from 23-26 June.
