Police have arrested and charged a teenage boy following an assault and robbery in Broxburn.

The incident took place on Wednesday 13 April around 3.40pm in Loaninghill Road.

A 15-year-old was later taken to St Johns Hospital in Livingston with minor injuries.

The 14-year-old is due to appear at Livingston Sheriff Court today.

Inspector Scott Robertson of Broxburn said: “I want to reassure the local community that behaviour of this kind will absolutely not be tolerated, and a suspect was quickly traced and charged in connection with this. Our inquiries continue and anyone with information about this is urged to come forward.” Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
