The Hibernian Development Squad beat Dundee 2-1  at Links Park yesterday with new signing Otso Virtanen and Dan Carmichael both playing the entire 90 minutes.

First half goals from Adam Watson and Oli Shaw gave Hibs a comfortable 2-0 lead at half time and although Dundee did pull a goal back, Hibs held on to secure the three points, which saw them climb five places to ninth in the SPFL Development League.

After the game, Hibernian U20 Development Coach, Joe McBride told the club website: “The only real positive I took from today, was the result. I don’t think we played particularly well, playing too many long balls, we looked a bit panicky and struggled to find any rhythm to our game.”

“I was disappointed that when Dundee went down to ten men, they still had a big say in how the game was going to go, we should have controlled it much better.”

Hibernian Development Squad: Virtanen; Dunsmore, McGregor, Waugh, Crane; Watson, Smith (Scott, 68), Breen, McGregor (Murray, 60); Carmichael; Shaw.
