Roads are closed in the city centre after a Lothian Bus was hit by falling masonry on Nicolson Street just after 9.30 this morning.
A man was slightly injured in the incident and was treated at the scene by the Scottish Ambulance Service.
South Bridge will remain closed between Chambers Street and Nicolson Square until the affected buildings are assessed and made safe.
Inspector Norman Towler of Craigmillar Police Station said: “We have diversions in place along Chambers Street and anticipate this will be the case until later today.
“We are asking the public to avoid the area if at all possible meanwhile.”
