£1 million has been spent on the refurbishment and the staff were celebrating the reopening earlier today with a cake from 3D cakes.
The much anticipated reopening comes following three months of extensive work since the Edinburgh Leisure centre closed on 29th May. The team are proud to be re-opening the doors to the fantastic ‘new’ facilities and welcoming customers new and existing.
The key improvements include:
A 60-station gym, double its previous size
A large second fitness studio to accommodate an increased range of fitness classes
New changing rooms and other larger changing spaces
Spacious new sauna
New shower and bathroom facilities
A refurbished Café Refresh for snacks and drinks
June Peebles, CEO of Edinburgh Leisure, said: “Edinburgh Leisure is delighted with how our new and improved Gracemount Leisure Centre is looking after its £1 million refurbishment. We are sure that our valued and loyal customers will think so to. The team at Gracemount look forward to welcoming back their existing customers and extending a warm welcome to all new customers. The community spirit around Gracemount is very strong and the leisure centre is very much a focal point in the community; we want everyone to enjoy being active at Gracemount and with great facilities, activities for all ages and stages and great staff there really is no excuse not to visit.”
