TGC EDINBURGHFRINGE_A5Returning to the Fringe following a successful debut in 2014, Tshwane Gospel Choir is ready to captivate audiences again!

Since Tshwane Gospel Choir’s introduction to the Fringe audiences a year ago, the instantly appealing, heart-warming and breathtaking choir has amassed a growing international fan base. Tshwane Gospel Choir brings you “The Spirit of Africa Show”, a display of the rich and diverse culture of South Africa and Africa with a message of peace, unity and hope.

Fresh from their three month TGC UK TOUR 2015, Tshwane Gospel Choir showcases their soulful mix of tribal, traditional, jazzy and contemporary African and Western gospel rhythms in a powerful repertoire. This leading South African choir has been nominated and won notable South African awards. Underpinning their success, the Tshwane Gospel Choir has been committed to using their success to give back to the community by providing disadvantaged youth with the support and mentorship to help develop and bring their talents to the world stage.

Formed to celebrate the unique and inspirational power of African Gospel music, Tshwane Gospel Choir combines harmonious singing accompanied by energetic and traditional dance moves that enthuse the audiences and leaves them wanting more. The choir has become one of South Africa’s most melodious ambassadors, with tributes to the legendary Miriam Makeba and Joseph Shabalala of Ladysmith Black Mambazo in their repertoire.

If you’re looking for the heartbeat of Africa, look no further than the drumbeats of Tshwane Gospel Choir. This young ensemble celebrates peace and unity in Africa, including a tribute to South African legends who have helped make African music available to the whole world.
