Hibs Development Squad continued their build up to the season with a 2-1 win overt East of Scotland League team Craigroyston at St Marks Park on Wednesday night.

Conner Duthie opened the scoring in the 30th minute but  Ewan McKintosh equalised with  a penalty two minutes later.

Oli Shaw secured the victory with eleven minutes remaining with a well taken penalty after he had been brought down inside the box.

After the game Hibernian U20 Development Coach Joe McBride told the club website: “They made it a hard game, they were more physical than us, in the second half we were basically an under-18 tea, but I thought we stuck at it and tried to move the ball quickly.

“But, it’s pre-season, the guys are still finding their feet, finding their fitness and touch – that’s what it is for. I was quite happy, especially in the second half.”

“It’s all about fitness, but it’s also about finding their touch, their range and making the right decisions more often than not. That’s what football is about all the time – making the right decisions.

“I’ve just spoken to Oli Shaw, who I thought had done well in the second half, but he found himself in a good position, although a couple of his team-mates were in a better one. He has got to be looking to feed them in as he would expect them to do that for him.”

Hibernian Development Squad: Sean Brennan (Johnny Clement, 80), Callum Donaldson, Trialist, Jordan McGregor, Kevin Waugh, Adam Watson, Fraser Murray, Aaron Scott (Ben Stirling, 45), Jordan Sinclair (Jack Breen, 45), Conner Duthie (Ali Smith, 45), Oli Shaw.
