Dylan McGeouch  believes that  the Hibs’ squad are far stronger and more confident than they were when they lost to Alloa Athletic at Recreation Park earlier in the season.

The on-loan midfielder who joined the club from Celtic has been in sparkling form alongside his long time pal Scott Allan who also lives in Glasgow. The pair travel together and have known each other from the international scene. Their form has been one of the highlights of the season and supporters are hoping that McGeouch will move to Easter Road should Celtic fail to extend his contract.

The Parkhead club recently signed two midfielders from Dundee United which could mean that McGeouch has dropped even further down the pecking order and could therefore be available in the summer.

His form is likely to attract the attention of other clubs, but he is clearly enjoying his time in Edinburgh and working under Alan Stubbs.

McGeouch told Hibernian TV ahead of this weekend’s fixture:  “I think Alloa is a difficult place to go with the astroturf and everything, but as every game goes by we are getting stronger as a group.

“The manager has added a few new players to the squad too and everyone is pushing each other for places.

“I had a wee set-back through injury, so to be able to get back into the team and get a run of games has been great.

“We’ve had a few positive results and decent wins, so hopefully we can keep that run going until the end of the season and I can play a part in it.”
