Police are appealing for witnesses following a break-in and theft at a city newsagent.

The incident happened at around 2:50am on Monday (Feb 2) at a Premier Stores found on St Johns Road in Corstorphine.

Three men broke into the premises before removing a cash machine held within the building.

Police are keen to trace the suspects who fled the scene in a blue hatchback car heading along Station Road away from St Johns Road.

All of the men were dressed in dark clothing with their faces covered.

Anyone who can assist police in identifying the suspects responsible is asked to come forward.

Inspector Annicea Madine said: “We want to speak to anyone who heard or saw anything suspicious in the area around this time.

“Those with information are asked to call police on 101 or alternatively the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
