Police in Edinburgh have released images of a man they wish to trace in connection with a serious assault that happened last year.

The incident took place outside Whistle Binkie’s pub on South Bridge at around 1am on 12th August.

Detectives are keen to speak with the male pictured in the CCTV footage, who is described as white, between 5ft 11ins and 6ft 2ins tall with a medium build and short mousy brown hair.

He had a tattoo on his lower left arm, which read, “Bradley” and spoke with a Northern Irish accent.

It is believed he may be in the military or working during last summer’s Edinburgh Tattoo.

Anyone who recognises the description of the man is asked to contact police immediately.

Detective Constable Joanne Robertson said: “The victim suffered a double fracture to her arm as a result of this incident.

“We wish to speak to the man in the footage in connection with our enquiries and anyone who can assist in identifying him is asked to come forward.

“Similarly, we would ask this individual to get in touch with police and help with our investigation.”

Those with information can contact Police Scotland on 101 or alternatively, the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
