Police in Edinburgh are appealing for witnesses following a serious assault in the Capital over the weekend.

The incident happened around 8.15am on Saturday 12th July at the junction of Granton Mill Road and Granton Mill Place.

Local officers responded after receiving a report that three men were attacking a male in the street.

On the arrival of police a 26-year-old man was found with serious facial injuries. He was taken to St John’s Hospital for treatment.

Enquiries are underway to trace those responsible and anyone who saw the assault take place is asked to come forward.

The suspects are described only as white, 20-30-years-old and of average height and build. They are believed to have been part of a larger group of males and females who were seen in the area at the time.

Constable Neil Marr said: “The victim has sustained some very painful injuries to his face, which required medical attention and we are now trying to establish the full circumstances surrounding this attack.

“Anyone who was in the area at the time and witnessed the incident, or who has information that can assist with our enquiries is asked to contact police immediately.

“In addition, anyone who can help us identify the suspects is also asked to get in touch.”
