Beauty lovers enjoyed free treatments last weekend thanks to Essential Edinburgh’s Spa in the City event. They enjoyed the atmosphere in St Andrew Square on Saturday and Sunday with over 1000 enjoying treatments from the likes of John Lewis, Jenners, Harvey Nichols, Roxburghe Hotel and Lush Spa.

With a ‘Fresh as a Daisy’ theme, the event played host to treatments such as facials, makeovers and massages.

This was the sixth Spa in the City event and was organised by the city’s Central Business Improvement District, Essential Edinburgh. Andy Neal is Chief Executive of the organisation. He said:-“Once again we enjoyed a fantastic weekend – and the Scottish weather was definitely in our favour. This is a fairly unique event bringing together the city’s leading beauty providers in one place so people can enjoy an entirely free weekend of pampering.

“As well as bringing a real buzz to St Andrew Square, it is also important in driving footfall in the centre and generating valuable follow up business for retailers throughout the city. As we near our renewal ballot, we would like to thank those who have been fantastic supporters of this event and we hope that local retailers will support Essential Edinburgh’s bid so that we can continue providing this key event in the years to come.”

Spa in the City is part of Essential Edinburgh’s pledge to encourage business and dynamism in the city centre. With a number of the top retailers being involved each year, this free beauty and wellbeing event has proved incredibly popular with people throughout Scotland, with hundreds of visitors passing through the gates each year.
