Improving the Royal Mile – Community Gardening survey – Bongo Club – Balerno Village Screen – Wine Tasting in March

The council want to improve further stretches of the Royal Mile in much the same way as the area outside the City Chambers which has been pedestrianised at some times during the day by installation of bollards. The surface has been made pedestrian friendly to encourage tourists and residents alike to amble down the important street. This also allows street performers to have a captive audience both during the Festival and at other times during the year. Now the council has more plans for other parts of the link between Edinburgh Castle and Holyrood Palace. They will be concentrating on the lower part towards Holyrood and the upper area at Castlehill, but are carrying out consultation on the plans first . Read our article here.
