Lothian and Borders Police are appealing for information to trace the whereabouts of a man who is missing from his Edinburgh home.

Sanjay Dhital, who is Nepalese, was last seen at his flat in Elm Row on Boxing Day (December 26) and has not been in touch with his friends or family since then.

The 23-year-old is a student at Telford College, and his disappearance is described as being extremely out of character.

He is described as being 5ft 6ins tall, slim build with unkempt black hair and a stubbly complexion. He may now have some facial hair or a beard.

Sergeant Bob Campbell said:- “As time goes on we are growing concerned for Sanjay’s safety, and would appeal for anyone who might know where he is to contact us urgently.

“We are looking to trace Sanjay to establish he is safe and well, and so would ask anyone with any information to get in touch on 0131 311 3131.”

Anyone with any information should contact Lothian and Borders Police on 0131 311 3131, or the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
