First time buyers continue to be the lifeblood of the property market according to ESPC Chief Executive, Malcolm Cannon,  as the organisation hosts an event to help support new househunters to secure their first property.

ESPC, the leading property marketing company in East Central Scotland is working with Bank of Scotland to host a free event for First Time Buyers on Thursday 24th January, at the ESPC showroom on George Street from 4.30pm -6.30pm.

A team of experts will be on hand including solicitors to offer guidance and advice to take first time buyers through the whole house purchase process.  Financial advisers will help with budgeting and finding the right mortgage which ESPCs property sales team can help buyers find their perfect property.

Cannon said:-“As lenders are focusing on those with large deposits or equity in their property to offset risk, it has become more difficult for first time buyers to get on the property ladder. However first time buyers remain a crucial link in the property market chain and they remain an important driver in a dynamic property market.

“We have a number of properties on espc.com which would make ideal homes for first time buyers and we want to help point potential buyers in the right direction with the best advice and guidance to make their first move.

“With 4,000 homes selling the last six months for 4.9 per cent under their Home Report valuation, there has never been a better time to get onto the property ladder in East Central Scotland.  In addition almost 20 per cent of homes sold in the last six months were secured for more than 10 per cent below valuation.”

With over 10,000 properties a year coming through ESPC and over 600,000 visits to espc.com per month, the ESPC markets almost 90 per cent of the residential market in Edinburgh.
